India’s Squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Announced
The wait is over! The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally announced the much-awaited 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. With the tournament set to be co-hosted by the West Indies and USA, the Indian team is ready to begin their campaign on June 5th.
The squad boasts a strong mix of experience and youthful talent, led by the ever-reliable Rohit Sharma as captain and the dynamic Hardik Pandya as Vice-Captain. Fans can expect to see familiar faces like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rishabh Pant grace the field, alongside exciting young guns like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Arshdeep Singh. Notably, KL Rahul misses out on a spot, with Sanju Samson stepping in as the additional wicketkeeper option.
India’s quest for the coveted T20 World Cup trophy starts on June 5th against Ireland at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. All eyes will be on the high-octane clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9th at the same venue.
The team finds itself placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and the co-hosts USA. A strong showing in the group stage is crucial for securing a favorable position in the knockout rounds.
