Fastest 50s For SRH In IPL History

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pack a serious punch when it comes to batting. They’ve built a reputation for explosive batsmen who can turn a match around in a heartbeat. Here, we celebrate three of their players who hold the record for the fastest half-centuries in SRH’s IPL history.

Abhishek Sharma – 16 balls vs MI, IPL 2024

This young gun stole the show in IPL 2024 against the Mumbai Indians. In just 23 balls, he whacked a mighty 63 runs! That included a staggering 7 sixes and 3 boundaries. He reached his 50 runs in a mind-blowing 16 balls, setting a new record for SRH. Interestingly, with this feat., he surpassed his teammate Travis Head who actually held the record in 18 balls, just minutes before!

Travis Head – 18 balls vs MI, IPL 2024

Before Abhishek Sharma, this record fell in the hands of this debutant! In his very first match for SRH, Travis Head, the Australian opener, went on a rampage against Mumbai Indians. He smashed 62 runs off just 24 balls, including 9 boundaries and 3 sixes. Even more impressive, he reached his 50 in just 18 balls, becoming the fastest fifty scorer for SRH at that time.

Unfortunately for Head, his record didn’t last long, all thanks to the heroics of Abhishek Sharma 15 minutes later. However, both players’ aggressive batting helped SRH set a new IPL record for the highest team total – a whopping 277 runs!

David Warner – 20 balls vs CSK, IPL 2015

Players like David Warner need no introduction. This legendary Australian opener has been a force full of power in the IPL. Back in 2015, he unleashed his fury against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He tore through their bowling attack, reaching his 50 in just 20 balls! This blistering start set the tone for a strong opening partnership with Shikhar Dhawan, putting a massive 192 runs on the board for SRH.

These three players showcase the kind of firepower SRH boasts in their batting line-up. From young talents like Abhishek Sharma to experienced campaigners like David Warner, they all have the ability to take the game away from the opposition in a flash.
