Ravindra Jadeja has added yet another record to his name, joining the elite club of players with 3000+ runs and 250+ wickets in Test cricket. This remarkable feat, was achieved during the third Test against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.

Jadeja’s journey to this landmark was nothing short of spectacular. After missing the Visakhapatnam Test, He wasted no time making his mark in this match. Batting at No.5 in a risky situation with India at 33/3, he showcased his skills and forged a crucial 204-run partnership with skipper Rohit Sharma. His fourth Test century, a well-compiled 110, not only helped India recover but also put him on the cusp of history.

Reaching 3000 runs with his century, Jadeja became only the 12th player in Test history and the third Indian after Kapil Dev and R Ashwin to achieve this double. With this feat, he joins legendary all-rounders like Shane Warne and Daniel Vettori in a truly exclusive club. This match-saving performance puts him in the same league as iconic names like Ian Botham, Imran Khan, and Richard Hadlee.

Jadeja’s achievement leaves no doubt about his exceptional talent and contribution to the game. On Day 1 of the Rajkot Test, Jadeja completed 3000 Test runs after he racked up his fourth Test hundred. In the last session of Day 1, Jadeja got to his hundred off 198 balls. At Stumps on the opening day, Jadeja stayed not out on 110 runs off 212 balls with the help of 9 fours and 2 sixes.

The other top 3 batters went out cheaply where Shubman scored a 9-ball duck. The Indian team will look to take this score to 450+ and England will look to get Jadeja in the morning and finish the Indian tail under 400.
