Before Abhishek Sharma, this record fell in the hands of this debutant! In his very first match for SRH, Travis Head, the Australian opener, went on a rampage against Mumbai Indians. He smashed 62 runs off just 24 balls, including 9 boundaries and 3 sixes. Even more impressive, he reached his 50 in just 18 balls, becoming the fastest fifty scorer for SRH at that time.
Unfortunately for Head, his record didn’t last long, all thanks to the heroics of Abhishek Sharma 15 minutes later. However, both players’ aggressive batting helped SRH set a new IPL record for the highest team total – a whopping 277 runs!
David Warner – 20 balls vs CSK, IPL 2015
Players like David Warner need no introduction. This legendary Australian opener has been a force full of power in the IPL. Back in 2015, he unleashed his fury against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
