Yuzvendra Chahal (187 wickets)

This leg-spinner is the king of taking wickets in the IPL! He holds the record with a whopping 187 wickets in just 145 matches. Nicknamed “Yuzi Chahal”, his IPL career with Mumbai Indians in 2011 and then with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014-21, later moving to Rajasthan Royals in 2022.

 

Dwayne Bravo (183 wickets)

Remember this cricketing legend from the West Indies? After appearing in 14 seasons, Dwayne Bravo has been retired from the IPL, but not before leaving his mark. He’s number two on the list with 183 wickets in 161 matches. He played for both Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings throughout his IPL career.  Playing for CSK, for more than 11 years, the veteran picked up 154 wickets in 130 matches at an economy of 8.32.

 

Piyush Chawla (179 wickets)

Another leg-spinner on the list, Piyush Chawla, has been a consistent performer in the IPL. He’s played for some big teams like Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mumbai Indians, taking a total of 179 wickets in 181 matches at an economy of 7.90.

 

Amit Mishra (173 wickets)

This experienced bowler, Amit Mishra, in 4th place in this tally, is a real handful for batsmen. He’s played for several teams over the years and currently plays for Lucknow Super Giants. He has a total of 173 wickets in 161 matches.

 

Ravichandran Ashwin (171 wickets)

Known for his strategic bowling and mind games, Ravichandran Ashwin makes it to the top 5 with 171 wickets in 197 matches at an economy of 7.01. He’s played for multiple franchises in the IPL, showcasing his skills across different teams.
