Warner Smashes Records in Dominant T20I Display!

Aussie opener David Warner hit another impressive milestone in the recent T20I against West Indies at the Perth Stadium in Perth on February 13, joining the exclusive club of Australian batters with 3,000 runs in the format!

Warner needed just 14 runs before the match to reach the mark and later smashed it with ease while chasing the West Indies’ big score of 221. This achievement puts him right behind former Aussie captain Aaron Finch, who retired from international cricket last year and holds the record for most T20 runs for Australia, with 3,120 T20I runs from 103 matches at an average of 34.28, including 19 fifties and 2 centuries. But looks like Warner is going with full force, and with the T20 World Cup coming up this year, he’s in top form to challenge that record!

After West Indies posted a massive score of 221 runs in the 3rd T20I, Warner and Marsh came out to bat for Australia. They gave their team a great start by putting on 68 runs for the first wicket. Marsh scored only 17 runs while Warner dominated the bowling and played some splendid shots. Warner fell short of a hundred as he was caught on 81 off 49 balls, hitting 9 fours and 3 sixes.

Warner was the star of the show in the whole T20I series against West Indies. He scored a whopping 173 runs in just 3 matches, averaging a mind-blowing 57.67 and striking the ball at a crazy rate of over 166 runs per 100 balls! He was easily the highest run-scorer of the series.

This kind of form is exactly what Australia needs for the World Cup! With Warner firing on all cylinders, the Aussies have a real chance of lifting the trophy in June. So get ready for more fireworks from Warner, the T20 master!

During the innings, Warner also became only the seventh batter to reach the 3000-plus T20I runs milestone. Below are the other players in the list.
